Spot the Difference! Again …. 1st August 2025

August 1 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

£30.00

As the first tasting sold out so quickly we decided to do it again, but with different wines!

I often hear the refrain “Well I wouldn’t know the difference between expensive wine and everyday wine.” I’ve never believed this to be true, I think we all have an inbuilt ability to see quality but I thought maybe it merited a vinous experiment. So this tasting will be a simple comparison between two wines in the same style but at very different price points. The trick to ensuring that this actually feels somewhat scientific is that it will be a blind tasting.

5 pairs of wines, each pair tasted side by side with a little background info on both from me but no indication as to which is the pricey one and which is the midweek value*. Ten terrific wines, one superb evening.

*My idea of midweek value wines is pretty decent gear at a sensible price and not a bottle of 19 Crimes, as such it’s going to be all about flavour.
