It’s All Greek To Me, Domaine Papagiannakos Wine Tasting – 11th September 2026

For a country with as rich a wine history as Greece it is unusual that it has spent so long in the vinous wilderness. For years it was a country that was overlooked wine wise, with the sort of package holiday wine, quaffed by the pool with the overriding aroma of coconut oil all around being as close as most people got to Greek wine.

Well things have changed, and they’ve changed a lot, Greece is now producing world class wines worthy of its history and heritage, Dionysus would be proud. One of the wineries leading the charge and putting Greek wine firmly on the world stage is Domaine Papagiannakos. This family owned and thoroughly modern winery has a rich history itself and as it is just a few miles outside Athens Bridget and I recently visited it and, whilst we have sold their wines for years, it was still a truly eye-opening visit. We enjoyed it so much so that we wanted to share the wines with you. So here is your opportunity to really get to grips with Greek wine, it will even include a Retsina which will blow your mind!
