DESCRIPTION:One of Verona’s historic houses\, founded by Giacomo Montresor in 1892\, with a reputation built on high quality\, affordable Valpolicella and Amarone. In recent years\, the range has grown steadily with vineyards being developed in northern Veneto too\, around Conegliano. A fabulous marriage of tradition and innovation. \nWe have been very fortunate to have Edoardo host a wine tasting before and he is amazing\, his knowledge is undisputed and if it’s possible he talks even more than Rob does!

DESCRIPTION:Our most popular tastings of 2025\, so we had to bring them back! And\, yes\, they are always different wines from previous Spot the Difference tastings so you can come to as many as you like! \nI often hear the refrain “Well I wouldn’t know the difference between expensive wine and everyday wine.” I’ve never believed this to be true\, I think we all have an inbuilt ability to see quality but I thought maybe it merited a vinous experiment. So this tasting will be a simple comparison between two wines in the same style but at very different price points. The trick to ensuring that this actually feels somewhat scientific is that it will be a blind tasting. \n5 pairs of wines\, each pair tasted side by side with a little background info on both from me but no indication as to which is the pricey one and which is the midweek value*. Ten terrific wines\, one superb evening. \n*My idea of midweek value wines is pretty decent gear at a sensible price and not a bottle of 19 Crimes\, as such it’s going to be all about flavour.

With vineyards that run to the very outer limits of where you can plant vines in Chile these wines truly embrace and showcase Chile’s unique terroir.  \nAt the very top of the tree the ‘Icon Wines’ also use the expertise of Felipe’s long time friend the legendary Aussie winemaker John Duval\, a meeting of minds and winemaking ideas that has created some of the greatest wines to have ever come out of Chile. This will be an incredible evening and you’ll get to see just what it is that makes Chile one of the greatest wine making nations on the planet.
